I had some old 8mm videos and a broken camcorder. I had no way to capture the videos. I knew generally what was on them, my children when they were young, not to mention my recently departed wife when she and I were in our 30's. I tried buying a used 8-mm camcorder at Ebay. I received it, it was an identical model to my broken Sony. Guess what? it had the same problem as mine, would not load tapes. That is when I did some searching and found FilmFix. I can tell you these folks are totally awesome. They stay in touch through the process, are genuinely interested in helping people preserve the memories of the their lives, and technically professional. What a wonderful combination. FilmFix is not a cold, non-caring corporation. I learned they are a family business that truly cares about their customers. All questions are answered in short order and with compassion. I cannot imagine having any other service do this for me if I ever were to have need. I also cannot put into words the joy I have felt watching the videos when they returned them to me as requested, DVDs and an external hard drive, with all footage in both DVD format and AVI format. One of the tapes I sent had a broken video tape. They were able to reattach the tape and capture the precious video on that tape. If I had to put my experience with this company into one word that word would be AWESOME.
